Scandinavian Bliss

The main goal was to create a functional universal kitchen that could accommodate the family's needs and demonstrate their fun personalities without sacrificing aesthetic value.

The clients were explicit about appreciating the simplicity and timeless aesthetic of the Scandinavian style but they wanted me to incorporate a joyful twist to it. As a design concept, it was essential to create a safe space for the children. Therefore, I opted for an island with rounded corners to avoid accidents. These curves were not only functional but became an important design element.

To reinforce and build a safe environment for the visually impaired, I selected matte black hardware and faucets to create a lot of visual contrast as well as low shine surfaces, solid colours and delicate patterns since reflection, glare and busy patterns can be problematic.
